Looking for Regular Charter Flight from San Jose to Auburn by
W[_3_]
I am looking for any regular charter flight that is traveling from the South
San Francisco Bay Area (Palo Alto or San Jose) to Auburn, California, or the
reverse direction, that has available seats to buy on either leg. I could
also work with a flight that terminates at the Lincoln airport just...

FCC bans 121.5/243 ELTs by

The title says it all - a 60 day notice of intended rule making from
FCC. Drawn up as ineptly as you have come to expect, but with its heart
in the right place.

Boeing has discovered that the Italian firm to which it subcontracted
construction of tail assemblies isn't doing the work correctly,
putting the 23 aircraft it has already built at risk:

Landing skills by
a[_3_]
OK, we've all heard the "It's a good landing if. . ."
a -- you can walk away from it,
b -- the airplane can be used again.
When the several of us do proficiency rides with each other, we try to
refine that a bit.
My working definition is
c -- if both throttle and yoke move back monotonically...

As a matter of minor interest, there's an interesting logic trap in
play here. I think it is safe to say all holders of the airline
transport rating also hold commercial certificates at least in the US.
As I have pointed out before, ATP is NOT a rating, it is a...

Me, not this newsgroup...
New (to me) airplane is paid for (LSA amateur built taildragger (Merlin

The instuctor thinks next time round I should be in good enough shape to
sign off - my airwork is good - had some...

Does anyone have updates on the family's condition. (Couldn't find this

I met Dick on my way to the Arlington Washington Airshow in 2002. He was
very kind to me and let me stay on his property at the Grass Valley
Airport.
I lost the card he gave me which had his website...

Ideas for an unusual aircraft ID? by
Morgans[_2_]
Today, an aircraft went over that reminded me about a post of a couple days
ago, when a poster talked about the awful noise a Beech Starship made, as it
went over.
I had a remarkably similar experience with my sighting today.
I heard this plane coming straight at me at around 3,000 feet and was...

This one did not break my airplane, but. . .
Landing in a cross wind at an uncontrolled airport -- it might have

from the centerline on the upwind side of the runway. I pretty much
had most of the rudder in, maybe 5 feet agl,...

Navigation strategy on a short flight by

From Phoenix to Casa Grande in a Cessna 152 in my sim:
The aircraft contains only a single VOR, without DME, and an ADF.
There are a couple of VORs nearby, including PXR at Sky Harbor, and Stanfield
about 8 miles southwest of Casa Grande (connected by V105/J92). There's also a
NDB at Chandler,...
