Strabismus and private license by
DL
I want to become a private pilot but have not had my medical exam yet.
I have a very slight strabismus (crossed eye) that manifests from
time to time. It is so slight my doctor does not recommend any
treatment. Will this keep me from getting a medical certificate?

Mike
NTSB accident report. See another MU2 went in 25 March near
Pittsfield, MA under strange circumstances.
As I said prior, if you keep breaking they will be all gone before
long.

C172SP engine start with battery switch only? by
Robert Winn
Rented a C172SP (Made in 1999) on 04/10/04 and was told to start the engine
with the battery side of the master switch only on, then turn on the
alternator side after the engine was running. I was told that this was a
new recommendation for all C172SP's. Can someone tell me where to find the
text...

RV-8 Instructor? by
Skyking
I have a friend in Kingman,AZ who needs some help with
landing his RV-8. Is there anyone near Kingman who could help?
The person would need access to a dual control RV-8 as
the time is not flown off of his airplane yet.
Thanks,
Skyking

Spin Training by
Captain Wubba
Hello. I'm finishing up my CFI training. My CFI and I went up in a 172
(certified for spins) and tried to get the plane to spin for my spin
training. The airplane was loaded properly in the utility category. We
could not get the airplane to enter a fully developed spin. It would
enter the incipient...

Where to rent in Anchorage, AK by
'Vejita' S. Cousin
I'm a private pilot from the Seattle area. I'm going to be in
Anchorage from now until 5/7/04. I was looking at airnav and the two
local airports (PANC PAMR) don't seem to have planes for rent. Can
someone recommend a club/FBO in the area?

Dumping Flying Magazine by
Dave
Is it me, or has Flying become among the worst GA magazines to read?
Why does it seem that all I read about are trip reports from Mac and
Dick Collins that, personally, offer little educational value? Each
of these guys write serveral articles per issue. Are they that hard
up for good writers, or...

Emergency Procedures by
RD
How many of you have memorized all the emergency procedures. The only one I
really know is the engine failure procedure. I have to admit, if any other
emergency was to develop I think I'm unprepared and it's time I do some
re-familiarization of procedures.
On a side note, I'm a bit confused about...

Circular Runway by

Good article in the recent issue of AIR & SPACE.
A USN pilot got the idea for a circular runway after experiencing an
engine failure and landing on a country road.
He proposed the Navy test the idea. He was killed in an accident, but
someone carried the ball got the testing approved.
The tests were...
