F-14 approach AoA, is it really 15 degrees? by
sttp
Elsewhere I've read that the Tomcat flies "units" of AoA, not degrees, with
its AoA range of -10 to +40 degrees being converted to units in the 0 to +30
range. That would mean the formula for converting units to degrees in that
plane is . I've also read that approach AoA
for the F-14 is 15 units,...

Runway needs of F4U and F-4 ???? by
vincent p. norris
Anyone here old enough to know the take-of distance of an F4U under
ordinary circumstances? (i.e., not loaded to the gills with ammo,
drop tanks, bombs, etc) How about landing roll?
(I realize the answers vary by altitude, temperature, wind, etc., but
would like just a "round number"...

STOVL and CTOL from big decks - deconflicting ? by
John S. Shinal
I'm merely an amateur observer, but it looks like there are a
couple of issues.
Deployment to theater - means one fewer USN CTOL squadrons
aboard the carrier once in theater. This might not be a big deal if
you are mostly tasked with CAS for Marines, but for a large campaign
using two CVNs, would...

LIMA 03 - air and maritime show in Langkavi, Malaysia, Sept. 30 by
tbp
Have a prototype, advanced marine coating product to sell.
A worthwhile expense to attend this show?
From a little online research, seems that the air/aerospace dominates
- do maritime industries still participate?
Any comments appreciated. Thank you.
