Q:VXA-210 Handheld by Frank Ivo Streckebein
Hello to the group ! Does anybody use the VertexStandard Pilot VXA-210? My question: The manual says that the led on top of the unit will glow green if it is receiving a carrier and the color will change to red when transmitting. With my handheld the led is only glowing green when receiving; the...

I am headed to APF 12/28 to 1/3. Last year, I tied down outside and survived a few thunderstorms. I am looking for hangar space this year, and am wondering if anyone has a hangar I could rent for a week for a Cherokee 180? Thanks, -Nathan

StrikeFinder Problem by Jonathan Goodish
I had an Insight StrikeFinder installed several years ago, and it always worked well, detecting nearly zero electrical interference from the aircraft in flight. The StrikeFinder is on a push-pull breaker, and over the winter I normally kept it unpowered, primarily because I didn't need it, but...

PING Newps Ideas for long flight to midwest by Montblack
("Newps" wrote) Going to ANE next Wednesday night or Thursday morning, any hangars available for a week that would be cheaper than Cirrus? I just sent an e-mail to your home account. Info about (confirmed) hangar space at ANE. One confirmed - don't need to commit to it (unless it sounds...

Jet Fuel Tax Refund by Dude
I am perplexed by the IRS' claims that Jet Fuel is getting diverted for highway usage. Isn't Jet Fuel more expensive than diesel wholesale? I know it is more retail. It just doesn't seem logical that people would be buying Jet to avoid the measly difference in taxation. After all, most won't...

My Airplane Needs Diapers... by Jon Kraus
When I was in the car painting business we used to use baby diapers for a non lint, non scratching way of wiping down cars before and after painting. They were awesome, reusable, soft rags... I was thinking that they would be perfect for the airplanes plexiglass cleaning and a host of other uses......

oil level effects oil pressure by Robert M. Gary
I've noticed that if I run my engine lower on oil than usual (but still well above the min) my pressure runs lower. I"m trying to understand how oil level effects oil pressure. If there is enough oil to hit the sump, wouldn't the pressure be uneffected? -Robert IO-360-A3B6 engine.

Bad new at GTU by Ronnie
We had a crash at GTU, Georgetown, TX yesterday. A Cessna 182 with 4 men on board crashed on takeoff off runway 11. The aircraft crashed just outside the airport boundary into a field with small oak, scrub and grass. It burned on impact. You certainly can't put much stock in the new reports,...
