Cessna 172 with Wild Fuel Gauge Needle by
jls
Anybody know the reason for this? The needle on the pilot's side is
stable, but the needle on the co-pilot side swings wildly, especially when
the tank is full. A float moves the needle around the dial. Why doesn't
it stay still and be good like its brother?

Cessna 172 F Weight and Balance by
[email protected]
My partners and I recently purchased a 1965 Cessna 172F.
The POH has weight and balance data that you would expect, except that
it focuses on moment only, gives no arm figure. Usually no big deal.
BUT, we recently bought a 396 and it will do the weight and balance
data for you if you enter the arm...

Lowrance 2000C ??? by
Tri-Pacer
I just looked at one of these jewels yesterday and I am impressed. Is anyone
using one? How do you like it. I'd really like to hear pro's and cons. I'm
presently using a King Skymap IIIC and could probably sell if for what a
Lowrance 2000C would cost.
Thanks

John Roncallo
Hello
Does anyone have any experiance with the Pann Yan 180 HP engine conversion.
I have a couple of questions?
1) How many hours did it really take to install it.
2) What is an expected increase in aircraft value?
3) How do you like it?
4) Does it really go 151 MPH

Cessna Glare Shield Cover by
Al Gilson
The glare shield in our 64 Skyhawk is original, therefore not the most
pristine to look at. Is there a cover available, such as the carpet
covers you see for autos/trucks, available for airplanes?
Yes, I know I can get a $200+ plastic cover rom Selkirk or others that
covers the entire glare...

WAAS upgrade info for Garmin 430 by
Paul kgyy
I called the shop today that installed my Garmin 430 and asked about
WAAS. They offered 2 approaches.
1. Get the upgrade. Cost is $1500 + $95 freight (!) + $100 to install
a different antenna. Terrain is an additional $500. Availability is
uncertain.
2. Replace the entire unit (2 years old)....

Landing a Mooney by
Jon Kraus
We just purchased a'79 M20J 4443H. I am in the middle of getting my 10
hours with a CFI for Insurance purposes and I have to tell you that this
thing is a lot different to land than a Skyhawk. So far I am glad that
my CFI has been with me because 75 percent of the landings have not been
pretty....

Greetings:
I have a Piper Altimatic II autopilot in my '64 C model Aztec which has been
in-op since I bought the airplane. I bought a service manual for this
autopilot with the idea of learning how it was supposed to work, and with
the hope of , maybe, just maybe, getting it to work and having...

Lightspeed Comes Through! by

As many of you know, while at OSH 2003 I had one of those inadvertent
"once-in-a-lifetime" conversations with the president of Lightspeed
Aviation. The story goes as follows:
I've had three pair of LightSpeed headset -- two 15s and a 20XL -- that I
have purchased over the last four years. The...
