So what is the big deal that King avionics has been advertising would be
announced at OSH?
Likewise, what is the Rotorway announcement?

Online airplane directory by
Matt Whiting
Is anyone aware of an online, searchable database of production and kit
airplanes that will allow a search for only high-wing airplanes? I'm
aware of a few of the kits, but most likely not all. I'm looking at
something that would be a decent IFR cross-country machine yet have
decent short-field...

Matthew Jurotich

Jim Weir and radio racks by
Matthew M. Jurotich
Jim Weir gave out awaards at Oshkosh and one of them was for ?radio racks? A
system for installing a vertical set of avionics in an instrument panel. I
have lost all my literature and am about to upgrade the panel on my RV 6. I
have bought the approach systems for the wiring and would like to...

hardware to mount avionics trays by
Matthew M. Jurotich
Somebody at AirVenture 2003 presented the best of what's new in the vendor
areas. There were several hardware and software awards. One of the
hardware awards was a system that let you accurately position avionics trays
in the panel. It was called something like "radio racks". If you...

So is Innodyn actually shipping turbines yet? by
Matthew Speed[_2_]
According to their FAQ they were expecting shipments to begin in 4th
quarter '07 with consistent production and deliveries in '08. We're
fast approaching 2nd qtr '08 so I was curious if the vaporware had
become solid yet.

Industry question by
[email protected]
My civilian employer is paying for me to get an MBA. As part of the
program, we design and evaluate mock business plans. As a pilot and a
builder, I naturally chose to do an airplane company as my project.
Once the other folks in the program realized that there really was such
a thing as a...

BD-5 historical questions by
Maury Markowitz
I'm writing a general Wikipedia article on the BD-5 (rewriting
actually) and I'm trying to re-create the story. My interest is
primarily from a "Popular someting" or "something Mechanics" magazine
(currently at my parents house, I'll see if I can get it over the
holidays - I don't think it was...

Electric motor assisted super- or turbocharger? by
Max Kallio
2-stroke diesels need compressed air for starting the engine, so the
turbo (exhaust driven centrifugal supercharger) is out of a guestion
and it produces very little boost at low rpm anyhow.
How about supplementing a centrifugal turbocharger with a high speed
electric motor to create boost needed...

Forget Turbodyne by
Max Kallio
It appears that Turbodyne was a stock market hoax to attract
investors. So, it´s a goner, but the idea on an electronically
assisted turbocharger definetely is not.

Dimpling and riveting pressures by
Max Krippler
Can anybody tell me what are the typical pressures required to dimple
a skin and also to compress a flush rivet? I know that squeezer tools
are rated at typically two to four tons, but what are the actual
pressures required? I'm trying to work out the dimensions on a hand
operated gantry for...

Collins TDR-950 connector pin numbering by
MaxGain
Anyone know how the pins on a TDR-950 transponder connector are
numbered? As you are looking at the connector from the back of the
unit, left to right? Right to left?
Thanks.
