Sell Google Stocks before they crash! by
Wallstreet-Cockpit
Dear Traders,
One thing is fore sure, good value stocks will never fall like Amazon.com or Yahoo! during the perfect storm of the internet hype.
To give you a small hint about Google, you have to look at the heavy insider trading in this stock. Stocks with the value of more than 15 Billion...

Airspeed Indicator Accuracy Tolerance by
O. Sami Saydjari
In my Cessna 421C, the pilot-side airspeed indicator reads 6 nts below
the co-pilot-side airspeed indicator. When I pointed this out to a
mechanic, he said that it was "within toleraance." He said it was
possible that one was 3 nts high and the other 3 nts low and so both
could be within...

RNP demo at DCA by

If you're not registered to read NYTimes articles you may not be able to
access this - maybe someone has a more user-friendly source for this
article.
I'm not sure how frequently they would want to be using 13L at JFK and...

Printing off Jepp charts: What paper do you use? by
Peter R.
Looks like Jeppesen is finally dropping their prices on JeppView and no
longer penalizing for convenience. Thus, over the next week I am going to
switch from the paper Airway Manual and that time-consuming, every two-week
amendment filing service to JeppView.
I remember reading that there are...

Newbie holding questions by
JohnK
I am getting ready to start IFR training next week, and there are a
couple of questions regarding holding that I have been pondering.
(Searched through here already, but couldn't find the answers...at
least spelled out for me ;)
When being assigned a hold, will ATC usually assign an altitude...

Jepp versus NACO by
[email protected]
I'm transitioning from Jepp charts to NACO. One useful thing that Jepp
seems to produce that I can't find on NACO are IFR area charts for the
smaller cities (e.g. Seattle, San Diego). Do `guvmint versions of these
exist?

Lee Elson

Filing direct with GPS by
pgbnh
The installation of the GNS530 is complete. The learning is just begun. But
since I now have equipment which allows it, what is the likelihood of
receiving 'cleared as filed' if I file direct to a destination a few hundred
miles away?
Is this not what 'Free Flight' was supposed to be about?
Is it...

Dual Vac (Pressure) failure in IMC, Night, yikes. by
Victor J. Osborne, Jr.
I think I just got my money's worth of the Beech Proficient Pilot Program.
(BPPP)
Last week, 3 of us where trying to get to Kissimmee from TN but Florida was
closed off due to a line of severe thundershowers across the state. Waited
in Waycross (great FBO, btw) then set off at 9pm into the night...

FAA Part 61 & 141 FAQ's Gone! by
Barry
To All:
Removal of the FAA AFS-800 Part 61 and 141 FAQ web site
Last month the FAA cancelled the AFS-800 Part 61 and Part 141 FAQ's.
Evidently the reason was because the FAA Public Relations folks, the creator
of the FAA's main "How do I become a Pilot?" FAQ web page convinced the...

King GPS parts compatibility by
Dave S
I just became the proud owner of an auction radio, a King KLN 89B GPS
reciever only, sold without tray or antenna.
I was curious about how interchangeable the trays are between the KLN
models.. say.. is the connector on a KLN 88 loran tray physically
compatible with the KLN 89 chassis (I will be...

Aspen at night by
Ron Garret
All the approach plates for Aspen are marked "Procedure not authorized
at night" (presumably a result of the G4 crash a few years back). And
yet there are commercial flights scheduled to land as Aspen at night.
How do they do it?

Icing in the scan... by
three-eight-hotel
Seeing several recent posts on icing situations, I was struck with a
curiosity of how much a part of watching for ice accumulation becomes a
part of your scan, for those of you who have flown into potential icing
conditions.
I've seen a lot of postings, regarding icing, and the places to look
for...

legal to use home-printed IFR plates? by
Marty Ross
I've never seen the/a definitive answer to this question:
Are there any negative legal ramifications of using IFR plates obtained
from, for instance, the AOPA website, so long as the plate is current
(they're now printing the date range of the plate's validity in the
margins), printed...

Interesting experience yesterday by
Paul Folbrecht
Did a short trip yesterday from MWC to OSH with the gf, just to go,
about 3PM. Was planning on cruising at 3 to avoid ice in the clouds,
which were not far about that at all. Briefer tells me there's an
inversion aloft, and the freezing level is at NINER. Cool, great!
Filed for 4, planning on...
