Slavery In Aviation by
Bob Dole
If the place where I work is telling me to work hour's for free, what
should I do ?
I am worried that working for free is illegal, immoral, unethical, and
unprofessional, and I am also worried that it exposes me to the possibility
of an IRS audit as I could be accused of getting paid "under the...

Tailwheel tires by
Dan Thomas
Does anyone know if any of the major tire companies are still making
the 2.80/2.50-4 tailwheel tire? We've been getting tires from several
vendors, all coming under different part numbers and names, but
they're all by STA, US made, and they just don't last very long. They
seem more plastic than...

Did you ever give up on an IR? by
No Such User
I wonder if I have what it takes to get an instrument rating. I can fly
just fine when the air is smooth, but if there's any turbulence I can
last at most two minutes before I have to choose between taking off the
hood or losing my lunch. The general consensus seems to be that this
will go away...

speaking of stats by
R. Hubbell
Imagine an Airbus A320 crash this week? And the week after that and for every
week from here on out. What would happen? There would be investigations and
outrage and it would scare a lot of people away from flying.
I read something similar to the paragraph above in an insurance mag...

Logging x/c time and definition of landing by
Koopas Ly
Howdy,
I was reading a short article on AOPA regarding logging x/c time.
By definition, cross-country time includes any flight with a landing
at any airport other than the departure airport; there is no distance
requirement. Reference: FAR 61.1(b)(3)
Of course, the catch is that:

control/performance method of instrument flying by
Bob Gardner
My guess, and it is a guess, that virtually all instrument pilots have been
taught both control/performance and primary/secondary, because in real life
we use a combination of both. Most, if not all, military pilots learned the
c/p method. The index for my copy of the Air Force Instrument Flying...

colored airways? by
Chris Hoffmann
From what I've been able to find, I gather that these aren't in use in the
US anymore, and haven't been for some time. Seems they're still used in
Canada though, and are still mentioned in the FAR's. Something to do with
L/MF navigation, but I don't know what that is.
Heck, I can't even find...
