--- New Aviation Upload Site --- by APW[_2_]
--- New Aviation Upload Site --- Tired of having your photos rejected by those picky web sites? You know who they are. We have created a web site that has a "NO AVIATION PHOTO REJECTED" policy. As long as you keep it under 1200x1000 and it's aviation related. It's approved.

where can you fly? by Armitage Shanks
Hi, Once you're a qualified private pilot, where can you/can't you fly? For instance, say I spot an interesting cloud formation. Can I just take off, fly up to it, ascend the vertical walls of the cloud and fly through its troughs and valleys in exploration of a formation that will only ever occur...

153A aviator question by [email protected]
Hello I am a 32 year old private fixed wing pilot. An army recruiter promised to get me into Fort Rucker if I joined. Here is the problem - after the boot camp I will still be an E3, to go to WOFT one must be an E5 or better. Question-- can they put in my contract that I am going to Fort Rucker...

Tuning In and Hot Take-Offs by Art Cline
Thanks for the memories of the good old Texas sun .. Maybe my memory has really faded but for the life of me I only remember the Hiller Killer H23s and a very few of the new Hughes Mattel Toys. If memory has not totally failed me the H23 had a button "Chinese hat" that was 4 way and we used that...

How difficult is it to shoot down a helicopter? by Asteras
I do apologise for the intrusion... The subject of this posting is not nice... But I have a good reason to ask for professional advice (and I am neither a terrorist nor a common criminal): One of the most notorious criminals of Greece, managed to escape (again) by using a hijacked...

Turbine to RC transition by B4RT
Some friends bought me a really spiffy coaxial RC helicopter for my birthday. Holy canoli these things are a stinkin blast! A little humbling at first too, it took me a while to figure out the trim hickamajobs, and flying one without it being trimmed is damn near impossible. I crashed pretty...

ANR headset - which one?? by B4RT
The Bose headsets become less than worthless if the ANR dies. Their passive sucks big time. Also, their connector wiring is really winpy quality IMO. I think they're really targeted at people who just feel a lot better if they spend more. Their ANR response seems to be tuned to knock out piston...

Have you flown "on top"? by B4RT
I'm just curious how many of you have flown on top? Either way, why or why not? I have. but didn't like doing it. It was to avoid flying too low among the blue ridge mountains when there were low layers hanging in the valleys. (I had a Garmin 396 with XMWx so from the sat/radar view I knew what...
