Cockpit noise level by
Tom Bjork
I am trying to reduce the wind noise in my Duo Discus. I've tried
adhesive-backed foam and weather-stripping with limited success. Anybody
have a "Perfect" or even "pretty good" solution to getting the canopy to
fit tight enough to be quiet but loose enough to open and close without too
much...

LX Navigation Traffic Monitor or LXNAV-TrafficView? by
Tom BravoMike
As I'm considering ordering the new Flarm Fusion, I wonder which (80 mm) display to go for. The two mentioned in the topic line have similar features and price. Pros and cons? What are the 'Voice alerts' like with the LX Navigation? Anyone could share his/her experience, please? Thanks in advance....

Is teflon safe to use under mylar tape wing seals? by
Tom BravoMike
I have applied some teflon spray with a brush into the canopy sliding window rails with good result. Now I'm wondering whether I could use it in the same way under the mylar tape on the wings to reduce friction and ease forces on the ailerons. Any thoughts if and how it reacts with gelcoat/glass...

A wooden control stick grip by

The grip in my 1984 Ventus is worn out and a bit sticky. I have always thought it would be nice to have a wooden one, e.g.:

Anyone has tried something like that? Are they much bigger/thicker than the factory ones? BTW, which...

Our soaring friends: storks by
Tom BravoMike
As there were many discussions about how soaring birds help us find thermals, this may be of interest to at least some of us: storks have arrived today, after a long trip from Africa, to Przygodzice, just south of Ostrow Wielkopolski in Poland, the site of WGC 2018. You can watch them live improve...

A Smart Way to Recover a Glider Pilot Hanging Among Trees by

An early-season accident in Germany yesterday (Feb. 27, 2021), with a happy outcome: an ASK-21 ends up hanging among trees close to the Burg Feuerstein Airfield (Bayern); no injuries to the pilot reported.
I like the way the rope is used to secure the pilot by recovery. Watch the...
