Firewall Insulation by
Kyle Boatright
The insulation on the firewall of my RV-6 is coming loose. Originally, I
used 3M spray adhesive and aluminum tape to hold the stuff in place, but the
insulation has come loose and repair efforts (more tape) have not held up.
My guess is that heat simply causes the glue and or tape to release. ...

Must the PLANE be IFR-equipped to fly over17,500? by
john smith
John Ross wrote:

In sunny, cloudless conditions can you file an IFR flight plan and go
over 17,500 if your plane (like my Pitts 12) is not equipped to fly at

Update to the VW Powered Homebuilt rant by
Ryan Young
For the first time in 2 years, I've updated my poorly informed but
colorfully libelous Rant on every VW powered homebuilt I can find.
http://users.lmi.net/~ryoung/Sonerai/rant.html
Read it and weep. I know there are planes I'm missing (Waiex and
Xenos right off the bat...) and a bunch of the...

Bending extruded angle by
Veeduber
To All:
Extrusions of every type are common stuff in airplanes but many homebuilders
may not be aware of the fact the extruded shape usually receives additional
forming. Extruded angle, for example, may be opened or closed by as much as
twenty degrees (depending on the alloy). It is also common...

Narrow Foil Strips for Ground Plane by
Dennis Mountains
Hi,
I'm building a Lancair Legacy (all carbon fiber) and am planning to put
copper foil strips on the belly to serve as a ground plane for the
belly-mounted com antenna. I'm going to use 1/4" wide copper foil with an
adhesive back, attached to the outside of the fuselage and covered with a
thin...

Bush shot JFK over what he did to Barbara by
Ross C. Bubba Nicholson
JFK gave Barbara Pierce a lesson in life in the summer of 1944 (making
her a "Cape Cod heiress"), and to her eventual husband, JFK gave a
personal motive for revenge. Perhaps if George and Barb had announced
their earlier engagement or even if George had given Barb a diamond
instead of a cheap...
