Where did they go? by
Flash
About maybe 7 or 8 years ago, there was a good bit of ultralight activity on
this forum, as well as the ultralight groups.
Some guy named Julian (I STR) moved to Henderson, NV, and had a forum of
sorts regarding U/L.
Anybody have any idea of what became of that bunch?
Thanks,

Team Air Bike (Ultralight) by
Flash
Yes, ultralight, but not entirely off-topic, as I could be interested in
building one. I know this is probably the most knowledgeable forum on the
net for this question,
I know the original Team Air Bike ownership has passed to someone who is not
releasing it for build/sale.
But I saw one a...

Aircraft design tool ? by
flash
My brother, who is into woodworking, pointed this out to me. I wonder if it
is of any use to aircraft designers?
There is a free version and a pay-for-play, but they both seem to be
competent, capable things. Anybody else even seen this??
How about it, VeeDuber?

Godspeed, Slick Goodlin by
[email protected]
NEWSMAX reports, Dec 11.
Chalmers "Slick" Goodlin, a landmark figure in American aviation
history, passed away in October, just short of the 60th anniversary of
the X-1 rocket plane's first flight.
Goodlin flew America's first jet, the YP-59, and went on to log 26
flights on the X-1, second only...

Safety and Hot Wire Foam Cutting by
[email protected]
A friend of mine just bought a hot wire foam cutting tool for carving
and shaping polystyrene foam. My question is whether the fumes and
smoke from doing such carving are a safety/health hazard? Any
guidelines for using such a tool safely?
Thanks.

KOSH Stream Audio or Vid? by
Flightdeck
Hi,
Does anyone have info about sites that are streaming the audio from the
tower and/or live video from the field or from one of the arrival check
point locations? I know about the AvWeb and the "airsidetv" service, but it
is not constant.

bulding a kitplane maybe Van's RV9A --- a good idea ????? by
Flightdeck
Chris,
I have helped build fiberglass, tube and fabric, wood and fiberglass, and
all aluminum kits and "plans built" aircraft. Regardless of the
construction method there is one thing that stands out about the process of
"home-building" and that is Commitment. Commitment, of course,...

82 UL Fuel by
floater
82UL was developed several years ago, to be easily produced from
automotive fuel. Instead of being produce by only one or two
manufacturers as 100LL is, 82UL could be made by any oil company. This
should make it cheaper to produce. 82UL is NOT a replacement for 100LL.
It is my understanding that...

Vinyl letters in foreign language by
Fly
Hi Folks!
Anybody here have a sign shop or know about cutting vinyl letters?
Local Yak owner wants his name printed under the cockpit's edge aka typical
warbird style, except spelt in Russian.
Letters about 1 inch high.
We can handle the Russian language, no problem.
But we can't paint very...

Interested in 320 Rebuild Information by
Fly Guy
I'm new to experimental aircraft and am surprised by a number of
things. The first was a peek inside a Lycoming IO-360. I've spent
most of my life around things mechanical...from building cars and
racing motorcycles so my first look inside a Lycoming was a surprise.
Given the size of the...

Response to Harvey Swack by

In April of 2007 a Mr. Harvey Swack published a letter attacking the
"scruples" of Jim Bede, allegedly because Jim Bede did not flight test
the aircraft. The letter was in response to an article the son of a
BD-5 builder wrote about his experiences with his dad and the building
and flying of his...
