Neat old Helicopter with radial engine... by
Ditch
Quite surprising to find one still active!
Not really...there are several flying after being converted with turbine
engines....and there even several (Like that one) that fly with the original
radial engine.
Fairly common sight.

Worthy EAA Construction Books by
Brock
I'm a beginner interested in building an amateur built plane. I've
decided to buy some books from the EAA. Probably all are pretty good,
but I don't want too much repetitive material. I'm trying to decide
between the following:
Tony Bingelis Books: Engines by Tony Bingelis. A treasury...

human powered flight by
patrick timony
Is anyone experimenting with human powered flight based on flapping
wing aerodynamics (hovering wing motion rather than soaring)? I have
a number of ideas and would love to exchange thoughts on the subject.
Some of them are as follows:
Materials: light, strong, sandwich-layered foam like...

Military helmet, civilian radios - my solution by
Dave Hyde
I've read here that it's hard to get a blanket
'one size fits all' solution to adapting
military helmets to civilian radios. I
spent about 15 minutes on the phone with
'Flight Suits' (www.flightsuits.com) answering
their questions about what I have and what I
wanted to do with it. A small box of...

Confessions of a Dumb Guy by
Veeduber
Most of you have never heard of Vernon Payne. He's best known as the designer
of a spiffy little biplane called the Knight Twister. Rag & tube fuselage,
solid spruce spars, plywood skins on cantilevered wings. Slicker than snot on
a door knob. First flew about 1929 and continues doing so today...

We rebuilt the old 172's shimmy dampener and now have started shimming the

Hi I wonder if you can help me,
I saw a programme recently that featured small elastic band powered

one right there and then. However I cant find plans for one any where.

Tolerances and fit. by
Roger Halstead
A couple of questions involving aircraft engines and in particular,
the K1A5 300 HP, IO540.
I've read a lot about blueprinting, but it seems to me that
blueprinting is not the same as optimizing.
How close are the Piston sets including rings, wrist pins and rods
balanced? How close would, or...

Regarding: ? about gyroplanes by

John Normille....it wouldn't take a reply at your post, so I have to

You'll find almost nothing but rotorheads and I've never seen a
question go unanswered. Also go to the Popular Rotorcraft Association
website. I don't have the URL...
