Winter 57mm Altimeter by
Ventus2NZ
I have just had my Winter 57mm altimeter fail it's instrument check.
From what I can ascertain, this is not all that uncommon. Does anyone
have any ideas or suggestions of a suitable 2-1/4" alternative.

Soaring pants. Yes, pants. by
Auxvache
I have a headache after shopping online for new pants to wear in the cockpit. R.A.S. never lets me down, so...
Anyone know which company makes lightweight cargo pants that have zippered front/side pockets (so the cell phone stays in if you bail out), and a zippered fly (relief system-friendly)? ...

Frank
Hi,
I've been enjoying my SN10B for several years now and really love it.
Recently I have been trying to use the Simple Glide Calculator (SGC)
page to do side calculations during competitions (I used to do this
with my LS4 prayer wheel but gave it to a pilot that had no computer at
all - tried to...

How does Winscore calculate finish altitude? by
kirk.stant
A question: How does Winscore calculate finish altitude on a cylinder
finish? I assume it is based on the logger's pressure altitude
reading for the closest logger fix after crossing the finish line, but
how is that altitude adjusted for the local altimeter setting? Does
it compare the...

Armchair CD U.S. Sports Class Nats by
Mitch
From looking at the sports class nationals scores, And seeing that
their have been only THREE landouts in four days of a 42 glider
NATIONALS, I'm thinking CD McQuigg is not pushing his troops hard
enough at this huge contest. I have heard that he is an ultra-
conservative CD, which is fine for a...

Hi !
The european regulation precise that "gliders with a structural mass
of less than 80 kg when single seater or 100 kg when two seater,

2018 - AN EXCITING YEAR by
[email protected]
You may not be aware of the new sailplanes being publicly released this year.
1. From Poland comes the news release of the Diana 3. It is an 18 metre ship with a conventional spar - unlike the Diana 2 which is sparless. The 'Three' is a real 'looker.'
2. The new Diana 2 has been worked on and...

Some gliders safer than others? by
Nicholas L
Are some glider designs much safer than others? Or do certain designs put their pilots at risk for certain types of injuries during a crash?
Looking at the Libelle with the bubble canopy it makes me wonder if the glider flipped on you during a bad landing or crash if the pilot would suffer head/...

12v - 12v charger by
5Z
I currently charge the (hard to remove) batteries in my ASH-26E with a
solar panel and charger installed on/in my trailer. During a contest,
the plane may not spend much time in the trailer during daylight hours,
but it does spend most nights in there.
The solution would be to use the solar panel...
