FAR 91.113d Question. by
SD
Hello-
I have a quick question/concern regarding FAR 91.113d. I pretty much
grasp the concept well. Basically apply the acronym BGAAR (baloons,
gliders, airships, airplanes and helo's). For example, If I am flying
my Cessna and a balloon is about 2 mi ahead of me I will alter course
to the...

This is why we train (kind of long) by
SD
Well, tonight will go in my book as something that I will never
forget. Tonight I learned a valuable lesson and was able to live to
tell about it. As a lurker here for many years, I have come to enjoy
reading about people's experiences and try to learn from their
mistakes. So tonight I am...

CNX80 IR Port by
SD
Does anyone know of any applications that work with the Apollo CNX80
IR port? I have looked throughout the manuals for ours and searched
Garmins website, but cant find anything that talks about it, just the
fact that it has one and that you can link to it with a PDA.

ok, here's my scenario:
I am an independent flight instructor, been flying for a little over 4 years
now. Ya, still a student in my opinion; envy the lifetimers. Just got my
first Flight Review less than 30 days ago, was planning on getting my
Sea -addon, didn't manage to get that one...

1966 Owner's Manual by
scupper79
My understanding is:
before early 1970s, FAA hadn't standardized the manuals into a POH format
yet, so they were just Owner's manuals at the manufacturer's discretion.
Did the 1st page after the cover still have to have the serial # on it?
I fly an old 150F model here lately and it's Owner's...

Flight Star or Destination Direct by
Scubadooo
Does anyone have an opinion on these two products?
I am debating between Flight Star and Destination Direct.
They are both desktop flight planning software that seem to have their
individual benefits.
Price is not the issue here, only user friendliness and graphics.

Renters insurance and TRIA by
Scrabo
I went to the AOPA renter insurance website today, fill in the details for a
quote and noticed an 'option' called
Terrorism Risk Insurance Act of 2002 (TRIA). It went on the say "Insurance
coverage for losses resulting from certain acts of terrorism: $5.00"
$5.00 - OK I thought but wait, it was...

Is this a Complex Plane? by
[email protected]
Greetings,
I looking at a Lancair ES kit plane. I know the plane is high
performance (210 or 310 hp engines) but is it also complex? The plane
has fixed landing gear, standard or slotted flaps and a constant speed
prop.. The real question boils down to this, does a plane have to have
all three...

Alarus for training? by
Scott[_5_]
What do we think of an Alarus CH2000 as a primary trainer and as a weekend
flyer? I've run into a possible opportunity to buy a used CH2000 for
possibly well under market value (at auction, so it really depends on where
the bidding goes). I also have a couple of guys who might be interested...

FAA user fees by
Scott[_5_]
My AOPA renewal notice included another one of those blurbs about user fees.
Increased fuel tax, flight fees for turbines, etc. I wanted to throw out a
couple of questions....
What if ATC fees were limited to revenue flights, regardless of engine type?
Would dual instruction flights be...
