Papers: Meredith Effect and RR Merlin carburator T.O. by Saville
Hi all, Quite a while ago, someone asked if there was access to the seminal paper by F. W. Meredith on the "Meredith Effect": "Note on the Cooling of Aircraft Engines with Special Reference to Ethylene Glycol Radiators Enclosed in Ducts" This is the start of the P-51 radiator.

Some advice by [email protected]
I have a question regarding the dashboard of the AA5-B Traveller, as my father owns one. The top of the dashboard says "Do NOT hold" which he blatently ignores. He argues that it is there to tell you that you mustn't hold it when getting in. Now I have said that it means that you musn't hold it...

Saudis Behind Scam Of Fake Hijackers of 9/11 by Quaalude
Senator Bob Graham reacted sharply. He called it "the most important thing about 9/11 to surface in the last seven or eight years." The Saudis; long time allies of the Bush family. The onion peels itself. http://www.tampabay.com/news/article1193346.ece

Check list challenge: 'Verify Emergency in RAP.' Response: 'Done. The group has been hijacked and is correctly squawking 7500" There's not much hope of recovery, the infection has caused brain death, it's been in a persistent vegetative state. The bad guys won. RAP, RIP.

Arion Lightning, best Light Sport Plane on the market for cross country by Mark IV
Arion Aircraft spent over 3 years making the kit Lightning as efficient and fast as we could, so slowing down to 120knts was a complete reversal of thinking that did have its benefits. By changing the airfoil slightly and adding 3 feet of wing span the LS-1 stalls below 44knts clean, giving this...

Here's a Wild New Idea! by -Mark-
Hey why don't we just talk about flying airplanes in this group? Myself, I keep getting stuck flying these high-wing Cessnas, but hopefully a nice little light-sport low-wing will be in my future soon. Or is this off topic now? --- Mark IV

How Early Can I Obtain a Clearance by John[_31_]
If I'm flying into an airport in Class B airspace, it is often convenient to pick up the outbound clearance while taxiing in. How soon can I obtain a clearance before the outbound flight? If I'm waiting for a passenger to pickup, can a VFR clearance (incl. route, squawk, etc). expire in 30...
