Zero G profile by
mike regish
What's the best way to fly a zero G parabola? My kids are hooked on them and
they're actually learning some science from it. I'd like to get a little
more duration without getting too fast.
I usually do a little climb until the speed bleeds off some and then push
over firmly. Should I pull the...

zero fuel w & b by
d&tm
in my PPL training it was drummed in to me the importance of always doing
the w & b calcs with the fuel you were taking and also the zero fuel case.
I posted sometime ago that with the Warriors I flew it was impossible to go
outside the w & b envelope by burning fuel. I have just finished...

Zebra Runway incursion by
Save the Elephants
I hesitate to post this link because one zebra met an awful end, but no
human was hurt in this nasty runway incursion. Warning: the zebra is in
terrible shape, and the pics are pretty graphic.

I guess the lesson is, be aware...

Zaon XRX and a Garmin 496 by
Marco Leon
So I've decided to get myself some sort of traffic ability and have been
leaning towards a Zaon MRX given the $.5 AMU cost.
Then I see this on AvWeb: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SlRoVcOnFM4
Turns out the $1.7 AMU Zaon can now interface with the Garmin 496/396 by
sending the traffic data in a...

Yuri's Night 2007 by
HAL 9000
Dear space advocates:
"Let's go!"
These were the words spoken by Russian Cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin as he
embarked
on the historic first manned space flight on 12 April 1961. Twenty
years later
on 12 April 1981, the US launched the first space shuttle flight. We

Youth Headsets now too small by
john smith
Upon our return from our Spring Break trip to Florida two weeks ago, my
children informed me that the DC10-13.4Y headsets they have been using
for the last ten years are now too small.
I guess it is time to swap them with the regular 10-13.4's in the other
flight bag.

Your very own suspected terrorist by
Michael
I have often wondered, with GA under increased scrutiny, how long it
would be before one of us was investigated as a suspected terrorist.
I never thought I would be first.
I came home from the airport last night to find a business card stuck
in the door of my apartment. It had the embossed gold...

Your opinions, please! by
Jay Honeck
Our new rec.aviation "Rogue's Gallery" of pictures.
Since our new website is obviously becoming more popular with you folks
every day, I need some advice on how to proceed:
1. Should I include "anonymous" posters? I have received pictures from
several folks who do not wish to use their real...

Your favorite altitude by
Mxsmanic
When you are flying VFR in good weather, what is your "comfort zone" for
altitude (irrespective of regulatory or other restrictions)? At what altitude
AGL do you find that you feel a little too close to the ground, and at what
altitude MSL do you find that you feel too high for your own comfort? ...
