Navigation software for laptop by
Joe
Hi everyone.
I live in Argentina and have a Garmin GPS II which I would like to use
along with my laptop as a navigation aid. Is there any software I can
use/you can recommed?
Most of the software I found is for PDA, I couldn't find any for
laptops. You advice will be appreciated!

Joe Clark
***The next time you consider vacationing in Reno/Sparks, Nevada
during the hot air balloon races, you may want to seriously consider
avoiding the Quality Inn, Sparks, Nevada as a place to stay.
***During a recent stay there, I experienced lax security, repeatedly
malfunctioning room keys,...

Honeywell KFC-225 autopilot - what could cause this failure? by
Joerg
Hi Peter,
The mpeg didn't play for me but just a few thoughts:
Since they say they couldn't reproduce it on the ground, could this be a
noise issue? Possible sources would be the radio, a transponder
transmission, engine ignition, maybe a motor driven trim, fuel equalizer
pump if you have one....

Citabria Pro (N5143T) ? by

The current condition and location of the aircraft are unknown. A
recent search of the FAA N number database list the Pro's N number
(N5143T) as reserved, with no aircraft assigned to the number. A
search of the NYSB aviation accident database can find no accident
involving N5143T.

GPS 90 database needed by
John
I own a Garmin GPS-90 and just tried to buy a database update from
Garmin. With no warning, databases for the GPS 90 are no longer
available. I am looking for a recent database that I can borrow or
buy to update my database which is 2 years old. (Garmin suggested this
when I called them) Thanks.

Learning To Fly? by
John
Hi All,
Firstly apologise if this is not the correct group to post to (My first time

I'm thinking about taking up flying and have found a few schools in the US
that seem quite resonable (for price and facilities). They offer several
courses - i've narrowed it down to two: 'PPL Private Pilot...

John
Flew to West Virginia yesterday from Lee Airport, nead Annapolis, MD.
Filed an ADIZ flight plan, called Potomac Approach and got a squawk code.
Flew out of the Baltimore-Washington ADIZ with no trouble, but requiring
several frequency changes as I was handed off from one controller to the

NC Engine Out Landing? by
John A. Weeks III
I took a long road trip over the weekend. At one point, I was
driving north on US-52 just turning onto I-74 near Mt Airy in
north-central North Carolina. As I made the turn, a very low
flying airplane passed over the freeway. It had one engine
stopped and the prop feathered. I think it was a...

Jet Blue On CNN by
John A. Weeks III
Anyone else watch the Jet Blue Airbus on CNN
do the emergency landing at LAX with the nose
gear pointed crossways? It is worth checking
out the highlights on CNN to watch it. That
had to be one of the best and smoothest landings
I have ever seen. The pilot really greased it
in, and held the nose...

I never heard the final conclusions of the investigation. I
recall hearing that they dreged up...

are in New York City, across the Grand Central Parkway
from the end of Runway 4/22 at Laguardia Airport.
Specifically, they are in a parking lot at the corner
of Ditmars and 90th. Anyone know...

Anyone know...
