Secondary Stall by
w3n-a
http://w3n-a.blogspot.com/2008/12/secondary-stall.html
This stall is called a secondary stall since it may occur after a
recovery from a preceding stall. It is caused by attempting to hasten
the completion of a stall recovery before the airplane has regained
sufficient flying speed. When this...

Searching for Budd RB-1 Conestoga NC45354 by
TuckerFan48
I am new to your forum so please forgive me if my question has been asked before. I am searching for records of a Budd RB-1 Conestoga. It was one of three prototypes built by Budd. The aircraft number was NC45354. I went to the FAA website but was unable to find any information.
This planes US...

Tcas by
Jessica Stanley
Hey everyone!
Since I received great feedback from you all about a headset, I figured I would ask another question regarding a TCAS system. I'm sure you all have heard about the various GA plane crashes that have taken place in the last year. These events bring me to my question. I am shopping for...

polar diagram in high altitude by
dominik lenné
Hi,
I wonder whether the lift over resistance coefficient diagram (aka polar
diagram or lilienthal diagram) of a given airplane changes much with
altitude.
The rationale behind the question is, that I read somewhere, that commercial
aircraft are flying in the so called "coffin corner", that is...

Pilot Quiz or test by
patsy
Hi,
I just started training for a private license.
I found a book on Amazon.com called
"Airplane Trivia" which I found helpful.
Can anyone recommend any other
test or quiz books for a beginner?
Thanks, Patsy.

"Trying out" a different insturctor just to see - good idea? Badidea? by
GEG
Hi everyone,
I'm a student with about 10 flights under my belt.
I had an instructor for the first 4 that I really liked.
I departed for a while, then had a new instructor that
I also really like - but for COMPLETELY different reasons,
and I can consider him "acceptable", but not great.
I wish I...

Increasing Aviation Publicity by
SBPilot33
Has anyone else noticed all the "all of a sudden" Aviation publicity in media lately? I bet its because of people knowing of all the pilot boomers who are to retire in the next decade or so. I sure you've all seen it: (the new Pan Am TV Series, Disney's "Airplanes"(Cars Sequel) coming out next...

iPad APPS ? by
Robert11[_3_]
Hello,
Looked, but couldn't seem to find any.
Might anyone know of any free (or inexpensive) iPad APPs that would
enable one to hear Tower and Tracon conversations from different sites ?
Or other "good" Aero. related APPS ?
Thanks,

A-330 ailerons by
M
I was sitting on a Northwest Airbus A-330 a few Sunday's ago at Tokyo
Narita airport waiting for everybody to board on the flight back to
Seattle, when I noticed something strange with the ailerons. Both
ailerons were at their full
downward deflection at about 30 degrees. Things like this can...

"The Aviator" by
Orval Fairbairn
My wife and I went to see "The Aviator" yesterday.
Comments:
The planes and some of the flying sequences were great -- especially the
S-38 and the reproduction of the H-1 and the CGI of some of the other
planes.
Acting: Leonardo DiCaprio should *never* have been cast as a pilot! His
"flying"...
