Jim Weir or other qualified persons: a tangent on the 2 radio 1 antennathread by
Dave S
Something about the thread, regarding transmitting power from one radio
being funnelled into the other radio made me take pause. In the Houston
area (and I'm sure most other major cities) there is an antenna farm
that has a collection of FM, AM and TV broadcast antennae. I would
estimate there are...

1999 Arlington crash jury award by
Kevin Davidson
This one really has me bothered: 1999 NWEAA Arlington Fly-in, pilot in RV-6
rushes departure at high angle of attack, crashes, dies in the ensuing fire.
His survivors sue EAA and NWEAA claiming the fire crews didn't get there
soon enough. The stated claims don't even agree with the NTSB...

Flight test report and intake leak question by
nauga
My Lyc. O320-D2C idles rough on the right mag, with the
#3 cyl showing an EGT drop. The roughness clears up
above 1200 RPM or so, still on one mag. It's also
noticably smoother on just the left mag, and everything's
smooth on both mags. In flight #3 CHT runs 50 degF hotter than
the rest, as well...

Corvair Engine Conversion Breakin Success by
Dick
William Wynne and his talented team helped
me achieve a successful breakin on my '65, 100hp "Airvair".
His manual was my bible and other than one slightly misadjusted valve, a
couple of initial oil leaks and a balky carb, things went well. Whatever
tools, etc that I had forgotten to bring were...

Real time continuous Prop balancing by

This thread is not about how to balance a prop or shop balancing
machines.
Did anyone use BalanceMasters device bolted on their ultralight prop?
These devices apparently balance the prop continuously as you fly.
Similar devices are used on truck wheels - see www.BalanceMasters.com

Citabria 7ECA Exhaust Wanted by
Capt. Dave
Hi
Citabria with a Lycoming 0-235, Homebuilt. I need an exhaust system similar
to an RV4's including heat muffs. I don't know if an 0-320 has the same
exhaust as an 0-235. Apparently the crossover option is a must for
horsepower, and the intake tubes and carb location are different than...

RG Battery Charger by Jim Weir in Kitplanes by

Hi,
As an 8-year (or longer) Kitplanes subscriber, and longtime electronics tech

about building your own RG battery charger (Kitplanes: March, April, & May
2004). This looks just like the ticket for my application, but I did...

turbine in microturbine generator for aircraft? by

I googled, but there's not much infor. about converting the turbine in
the microturbine generator for aircraft use. So I am tossing my idea
here. The Capstone's microturbine generator looks very neat. The
generator has 60kw output, and the turbine itself should have higher
output, enough for a...

The earth pulls down on the plane... by
Alan Baker
....and the plane pulls up on the earth.
The air pushes up on the plane and the plane pushes down on the air;
essentially transferring the earth's continuous flow of downward
momentum acting on the plane to a much greater mass of air.
That air keeps that downward momentum, diffusing it through...
