John,
I agree.
I seem to remember a physiology type telling me that the eyes provide 80-90%
of the body's motion and balance cues, so a dramatic visual is typically
adequate. Motion is just icing on the cake.
If the domed sims in Lemoore are any indication, then I can personally vouch
for that.

If you can live without motion, we have a couple that are mounted in
standard sized truck trailers. (A retrofit of Kingsville's hardware when
they needed to remove T-2 sims to accommodate T-45 domed sims.) Ownership
and administration come under NAVAIR and NTTC Orlando IIRC.

Well, they'll be moving them out of the building shortly. For a full
motion
setup, you'll need roughly 30x40 footprint with 20 foot ceilings. OBTW,
the
computers are early 70's DEC technology. While the console operation is
straightforward, working with the hardware requires some knowledge of

You could run it without the motion, I imagine.
Any insider info on how to try and get one (not for the home...for a
University)?
You're right, the A-4 final update (stand-alone vice 4 to a deck) would
fit
in a garage. A much more user friendly system as well, both for the
techies
and the operator.
