Default high-speed camera view of a piston intake, combustion, exhaust

Interesting high-speed camera view of a piston
intake, combustion, exhaust:

It's interesting to me that the air/fuel mix looks really
sparse and not evenly distributed. On that site there's
a shot of a diesel stroke and it looks very symmetrical
in comparison. I was thinking the diesel stroke combustion
was more symmetrical because the heat is more evenly distributed
in the diesel. Of course the diesel is from a different angle
so that may also play into the result.

There are lots of factors that determine how
the mixture combusts. i.e. number of valves, the shape
of the intake manifold, and lots of others.

There are some other neat videos on that site.
