How long is "a while"?

What is the local climate?

Do you already have an airplane that could enjoy the benefits of a
nice hangar (while you are shopping for your 340)?

Bearing in mind that a 340 is a complex aircraft (pressurized,
turbocharged, retractable gear, etc. etc.), I can't think of any
aspect of a tie-down that wouldn't be detrimental to it mechanically.

Desert storage is about as good as it gets, and it ain't great.
