Send them a very nicely worded short note saying just that. (Letter, not
e-mail)
Tell them you can understand the "upcharge" if the unit was three years old,
but you are inside 90 days (whatever) and would appreciate them "fixing" the
unit.
Grovel, grovel ...thank you. etc.
Keep your eye on the prize --- $190.00 staying in your pocket. You'll
probably have to ship them out on your nickel - maybe.
Oh, it might take a second, very nice note, to get past the first "no"
person.
