A few years back, Bill did a BFR for me in the Lark. He had sold it
to Grant Grove by that time and it still looked and flew great (except
for a few scratches on the belly from when Grant forgot to lower the
gear)

Yeah, I remember that flight. Two CFI's in the same cockpit at the
same time. That's just about the most dangerous combination on Earth.
Each thinks the other will "bail it out" when things get past the
normal envelope. I remember that flight especially because it was the
only glider flight I made in 5 years where we landed down wind. I
also think that was a flight where we let it get sucked up into a
cloud just for fun.

Almost all of you people of RAH- land don't know this but you can fly
in IMC if you are instrument rated if you are in uncontrolled airspace
without a clearance. I had the gyros in that baby to fly IFR and I
routinely did. Some of the best lift I ever found was in the center
of clouds...2000 feet per minute UP and more. That's over 20 knots
vertical.
