I don't know if the plane will retain it's aerobatic abilities since many
STC's remove that from the plane upon modification. However, if you want
the original design you'll have to find a pair of Cessna Wings to do it,
not easy. There are the Flint Wing Tip tanks out there, it's very very
expensive to do however.
Go to the Cessna 150 -152 group on egroups.com and search the archives and
you'll find it. I have a friend named Wayne in Tx that installed them on
his 150/150 and loves them, but rarely fills them because it's almost
impossible to fly legally with all the tanks full unless you're a real
lightweight pilot and flies solo, but if you are, they're good.
They work by a mechanical fuel transfer, i.e. you flip a switch after
flying so long and transfer the fuel from the tip to the mains. If you
pump to long it goes out the overflow tube.
Near as I remember him saying, it's several thousand to do the
modification.
