So who "appoints" the Council members? The voters, that's who. You are a
young, dynamic, presentable person. Get your hiney out there and run for
the
Council. Remember JC Superstar? "Understand what power is, understand

glory is."

BTW: I wouldn't have a rat's-ass chance of winning a council seat. The
last Republican elected in Iowa City was in 1958 -- the year I was born...

This place is as close to single-party rule as you can get outside of Cuba.
