Been out of touch for a couple days, hopefully you've resolved this
with Lycoming.
"ask permission" gag choke puke.
I guess I would have told them that I own or operate the engine, and
if the build sheet is not forthcoming via e-mail, fax, or express
freight, I was planning to charter a Skyvan and drop the pocking thing
through their durn roof.
But then again, I've used that one once or twice during hostile
warranty negotiation (pre-IX XI), so you might need to come up with a
new method.

Thanks for following up. The guy said yesterday that he'd fax me a
few pages of stuff like the EMPL#, and a page from the spec sheet to
show how my plane was built. I was happy to hear that so I said go
ahead. Something happened with the fax and it didn't come through.
When I called him back (about 5 minutes later) his message said he'd
be out until SEPTEMBER 4th!!!!! So today I tried to get his back up,
but the guy never called back. Monday I'm going to get a little
pushy, this has taken over a week and a half.
As far as my response if they weren't going to send it, I was going to
site the AD, and get their FSDO and my FSDO involved, which hopefully
would have done something (I know, I know, I'm dreaming, but maybe the
threat of doing this would have done something).
I'll post a note when (if?) this is resolved.
Thanks again,
z
