course, cost several hundred for the prop balance. I'd hate to spend
that money and still have the vibration problem.

A dynamic prop balance would probably smooth the ride. Another thing
to check is the engine mount dampeners - if they are shot, no amount
of dynamic prop balancing will fix the vibration.
