If your Cherokee is new enough to have the wing root air intakes, there is a
little 1" scat tube piped into the co-pilot's side wing root air intake
which is connected to a "piccolo tube" that fite between the 2 radio stacks.
This lets cold air into the radio stack.

I've never had problems with avionics overheating, although my GPS has its
own little blower ("or you'll void the warranty...")
