My A&P makes more than most of my guests at our hotel. He drives a 42
foot
yacht on one of our larger inland lakes.

That is EXTREMELY unusual for a GA A&P.

Which is why he runs his shop from 10 AM till 2 PM daily (his partner -- a
retired grocery store manager -- hangs around until 4 PM), and then goes to
his full-time job as a mechanic for an air freight company that just changed
hands. He works on DC-9s until 10 PM daily.

He works on little planes because he loves it -- not because he needs to.
I think he'd probably laugh if I tried to tip him!
