Hi, Try to find an Old panel beater (car panel repairer)
I learnt alot with regard to shrinking panel steel useing a oxy/acc set.
Aluminium has a much higher coeficient of expansion with heat, but should
still apply. Just keep in mind that you will f**k any strength properties
the alu had from the process, but then again, there might be a work
hardening factor to your advantage.
If you just want to make spoons for your Grandmother, then just grind the
shape out of hardwood or cast a shape using concrete, anneal the aluminium
(marker pen ,heat till gone , no more) Then beat with copper drift and
hammer.
Don't practice too much, you'll get a saw arm!

Cheers Cam.

Art is in the eye of the beholder.

Any suggestions for a good text and/or discussions about metal shrinking,

dinging, stretching, etc. I would like to
learn to form aluminum into scoops and other shapes. I know it is a

practice, practice, practice (almost) art form.

Thanks all!
