Of course that's not true. The full articles are available to anyone
willing to scroll down and click the link at the bottom of long
articles which reads, "Read the rest of this message..."

Hmmm - USENET - there's something about it - that promotes
misunderstanding

Doubtful. Lack of familiarity with computer use, and a lack of
willingness to read and *interpret* what's presented may hinder new
users, but the usenet paradigm is not so arcane as to be confusing to
the majority of readers.
