Just so people don't get disappointed, you don't just "walk in" a FSDO
anymore since "9-11". You must call and get an appointment. Granted, there
are some that may let you in but not all of them.

Actually, the Washington FSDO (at Dulles) despite the "official pronouncement"
that you need an appointment, will meet you in the lobby of their office for simple
things even without an appointment. I had to go there and get a new certificate
when getting rectal-probed to fly into my home airport because my hair color was
listed differently on my medical than on my pilot certificate. To their credit, the
FSDO reissued a corrected certificate with a minimal amount of hassle.
