Yesterday, 29 Feb, Brazoria County Airport just south of Houston.

Perp cut locks on 16 hangers .
Only thing taken was a C-172 and two 6 pacs (Texas staff of life).
T/O was about 06:30.
Airplane ran into high tension lines 3 miles from airport.

I saw an earlier article on the crash, with no pilot anywhere near the
plane. At that time they hadn't found out about the breakin, and
didn't know where the plane came from. Sigh... another failed Darwin
Award candidate!

Insurance scam??? fire it up and let it go??? would the plane just take
off on it's own if left to it's own devices with no crosswind???
