About a year and half ago I was in the pattern at PNE with a B17. Kinda
neat to be told "you're number 2 behind the B17". Even the controller
got a kick out of it.

Susie and I flew down to Georgetown Delaware Friday to see old friends. As
I was turning off the rw, I noticed a B-25 parked over by a hangar. Big
thrill: my late father (http://users.erols.com/viewptmd/Dad.html ) had a lot
of time in B-25's, and it's always been one of my favorite warbirds. Even
better, as I was tying down the Archer on the ramp, it started up, and
taxied right behind my plane. Larry Kelley's B-25J "Panchito"
(http://www.ragwingsandradials.com/ma...ge.aspx?db=B25 ). As it
took off a hundred feet or so away, I just stopped everything and watched
and listened. Great sound, great closeup view, perfect nostalga. Even
Violet, our friend who was picking us up and who is not particularly an
aviation enthusiast was impressed. She said it sounded just like we were in
an old movie. I couldn't have said it better myself. Thanks, Larry, for
keeping her flying.
