How do I check weather while flying in Canada? Is there a 800-WX-BRIEF

1-866-wxbrief (1-866-992-7433)

.... for both flight planning/briefing & filing purposes.

Look in your Canadian Flight Supplement[1] at any airport entry under "FLT
PLN" - the "FIC" is 'Flight Information Centre' and will give you the #
appropriate for that airport.

Note that any XC must have a flight plan filed and opened, and that
Tower/Ground controllers will open & close FPs for you; those are the two
big differences I'm aware of between us & the States.

[1] I hope you've got the CFS; you can get it thru mail order and it's got
all the airports in Canada and lots of other information. The back cover
is esp. useful - notes for Flight Plans, Enroute Reports, Arrival Reports,
etc etc etc
