I don't agree about the grammar being too good. I've conversed with people
of many foreign countries whose English is impeccable.

However, the last name "Simons" certainly is not Russian.

I would be willing to bet that this is a scam. I would be sure to first
exchange emails, and possibly even get in touch by phone before I gave any
money.

Not that I don't want to help someone who is truly honest, but I don't want
to support scam artists operating on the Internet.

want to discourage anyone from being charitable, but I think it's worth
being very cautious about who and how. If anybody contacts this "girl"
ask her to provide some kind of proof of who and where she is. What
that could be is difficult to say.
