I prefer a joystick as most of my real flying is stick and I like the

You should be able to find a Gameport-to-USB conversion cable "that works",
but even failing that... if you DO get another controller, there is nothing
to prevent you from getting a USB Force-Feedback Joystick, if a joystick is
what you prefer.
