Oh no it doesn't

All a sideways tilt in the lift vector tries to do is move the glider
sideways. Whether or not that results in a turn depends on what you do
with the rudder.

Um, I think it is the stabilizer/elevator instead of the rudder. Jet
Jocks call it "Bank and Yank."

I notice that neither place picks up all the posts on the subject.

This is one of the funniest threads I've read. Almost everyone makes a
good argument, but includes at least one undefensable statement.
