Yes it can. One start button and a throttle, that's it. 12-15 s. from
pushing the button to full thrust. I will use the original hatch both when
the engine is inside and outside.

is that it starts on Jet A1 fuel (no starting gas).
The engine(s) will be 100% retractable into the fuselage when not used.

Nice idea, especially if it easily can self start. Try to design it so
that when the engines extend a cover also comes up to close the hatch.
That way you don't have the added drag of a large hole in the
fuselage.
