Hi Henryk,
As a developer, aren't you able to use the pixels in the best
possible way? So if you have four times as many pixels you can
form the characters better and shrink them a little with the same
readability?? That plus the extra diagonal size should give us
quite a lot more info to see on the display at the same (yes -
inadequate . . ) legibility. Within the current HP range
(assuming that the H555x days are nearly over) HP buyers can only
choose between 3.5" and the 4" with it's high resolution 640x480
display. That's a big difference in area and a four fold increase
in 'detail'.
Looking forward to hearing of Paul's appraisal. Any one else able
to see one?
Cheers,
Jim Kelly

om...
There is a new format of iPAQs. I just look at HP web site and
the
have new (at least new to me and my knowledge) iPAQ 4705, 3715,
3115,etc. Does anyone know how they work with WinPilot and
Cambridge
302 for example? How about those digital iPAQs? Looking for
feedback
and information.
Any program that ran on previous versions of iPaq will run on the
new
ones (check for presence of serial interface though). Display
resolution defaults to 240x320 for these programs. Whether there
is
any advantage to higher resolution for soaring is in my mind
questionable. In a cockpit one can hardly see the color screens
in any
case, making features smaller will just make things worse. 10%
increase in display size is not enugh to compensate. (Disclaimer)
Have
not seen the new iPaqs in action.
