Even as the news media envision powerful lasers blasting airliners out of
the sky, pilots have been experimenting with using lasers to make flying
safer. This rescue device was developed by an Alaskan pilot.
It doesn't seem likely to blind anybody, but if I was relying on one of
these I would want extra batteries.
Interesting device, and seems as if it could be useful and effective in
some search and find situations. Does require that the lost or injured
individual be at least conscious and functioning. Using green rather
than red laser pointer technology could be considerably more effective,
though somewhat more expensive.
