I am in search of a plane to purchse for my husband. He is getting his
pilots lisence within the next few months and I would like to give him
a gift. Just a little something to keep him in the air as much as
posible. I looked at a Piper Saratoga and it looks very nice, but I
know nothing about them. Is it a good plane to start with or should I
look for something less elaborate? Anyone willing to give a girl some
advice would be greatly appreciated. Looking in the Harrisburg or
Pittsburgh area. Thanks ever so much -Cheers

You're planning on surprising him with an airplane you purchase?

My advice: don't do it. An airplane is not a very liquid asset. Choose
carefully, since you are likely to be stuck with your choice for a long time,
unless you're made of money. "Choose carefully" means consult with your husband
and decide together.

Yes, a Piper Saratoga is a fine airplane, one of many. Most people start with
smaller, less capable airplanes, but some start at the Saratoga level or higher.

Good luck. Your husband is a lucky guy.
