The AOPA request points out that cellphones are a useful resource for
aviation information and don't appear to affect general aviation
instrumentation (presumably including those in gliders). No US
cellphone service providers prohibits their airborne use, nor does the
FAA. Just an old FCC rule of obscure origins.
