That will work, now find 2 top pilots willing to engage
in your experiment. Lots of issues involved, not the
least being insurance, instrumentation, time in type,
etc. These guys are out to win, not to engage in academic
exercises.
Like scum on a louisana swamp, you will find the usual
suspects will find a way to levitate to the top of
the score sheet.

A way to accomplish this switch within the rules might
be to have two
'teams' flying two gliders. The teams would have the
same members (2
pilots), who would switch halfway through the contest
so one pilot
would fly the first half of one team's flights and
the second half of
the second team's flights. Vice versa for the other
pilot.
