RM,
Why don't you try a one man show? There are plenty of them around, and they
are usually the better of the instructors for these intensive schools. I
did it that way. I signed up to go to Fort Atkinson, WI to get personal
training from Norm Wolfe, a Naval Flight Instructor who's had plenty of time
in airlines and GA, too. He has the simulators at his house and has the
whole course planned out in his area. Norm is a great guy, too. I don't
mean to make this sound like an ad or anything, but I did receive some
outstanding instrument training from him. Anyone interested can email me
privately for his contact information.

I'm considering taking one of the intensive instrument rating courses,
most of which have a prerequisite of having completed the knowledge exam.
Accordingly, I've been working on that on my own.
Is there a CFII around who is willing to give me an endorsement to take
the test, preferably just on my word that I've done an adequate job of
preparation and will not disgrace you? I'm near ADS, but can meet anyplace
in the area.
As to which school, on paper, Shelbe's in Arizona seems to be the best
deal,
but I've no inside knowledge of their operation. Can anyone say anything
about
them, pro or con?
If anyone wants to propose a local course, I'm listening, but please don't
just say "go to Monarch" or something equally uninformative. I'm already
quite familiar with the local schools.
