They should be more highly regulated that DC airspace. The scooter store
has obviously hired a top dog salesman in my area. From nowhere there are
now at least 40 in this town of 25K. They drive on the roads. They were
riding the little Satan scooters on the main 5 lane avenue until the
police put a stop to it but they still cross it during rush hour.

As far as OSH I think the answer would be a retractable blade in your
shoe. Just pop it out and kick the tire.

It amazes me how easy it is to "qualify" for one. I believe there are
many people that need them and most of those you see do, but traffic laws
still apply and should be enforced. I have seen places where I would swear
they gather like a biker gang an head on down the road.

I qualify for a scooter. I won't get one simply because I don't really
need one. If I were to go to OSH or some other big event I'd take a manual
wheel chair. Of course I'd add a cupholder, gotta have that.

If I ever need a scooter I'll make my own: roll bar, 4 wheel drive,
Chevy small block engine......

There has got to be some serious money being made on the things. They aren't
paying for all those commercials they are running with money that came from
the people around here.

Of course, I think if a person really needs one they should be able to get
one. But the folks that I keep almost running into made it to the liquor
store just fine before they got them.
