The Navman will transmit altitude, as long as you didn't run the crappy
road nav program which was supplied with the unit. If you did, then you
need to reset the gps, using a simple utility. I occasionally use the
NAMVAN 3450 with an IPAQ 3835 when I flying club gliders, and it works
just fine.

I use PocketMap Navigator for road navigation. It will accept Lat/Long.
This is a real nice program with many features.

If anyone wants an Navman I do have a brand new one here (works great for
Vehicle navigation and is tidy!) you can have cheap.. TomTom on the other
hand does work fine with Flight navigation (FlywithCE Navigator) and works
great for vehicle navigations as well making it quite an impressive option
for glider pilots who want to use their PDA for something other than just
glider use.

Does anyone have experience with the Navman 3450 GPS Navigation
Sleeve for IPAQ? I'm specifically wondering if lat/long coordinates
can be directly entered into the unit. From the literature, I get the
impression that you must enter an address or intersection name. Are
there any other PDA/ GPS products out there that I should consider?
Trying to realize the impossible dream of an actual spousal unit
ground retrieval in a landout pinch Thanks in advance for
any help
