I called our local prop shop and got a quote for $ 570.00 to sand, paint and
test my simple propeller + $ 100 to remove and install it. In conversation,
it turns out that the entire fleet of 152's with the McCaully prop now has 2
AD's on them. One is a recurring annual item, the other addresses the way
the prop is fastened to the engine. My best venue would be to toss the prop
and get a Sensenich which has been in use on these planes for 20 years and
has no issues or AD's.
If anyone has a prop that would fit my 1982 C152 with a Lycoming 0-235/L2
engine, please let me know. I don't want to have to service a prop annually!
Thanks again.

At my annual, the IA said my plane is in great, clean safe condition, but
I
need to have my prop overhauled. It's a 2 blade aluminum prop on a
Lycoming
235/L2 engine. My understanding is that it just needs a clean up, some
paint
and filler, then a balance and return to service. Has anyone done this
recently, and what should I expect to pay?
Thanks all.
